Fungsi Flywheel

Flywheel merupakan sebuah plat bulat yang terbuat dari baja cor kelas tinggi dan diikatkan pada bagian belakang dari crankshaft. Hal ini akan membuat putaran engine yang dihasilkan dari tekanan piston ke bawah yang diterima oleh crankshaft menjadi lebih halus.
Flywheel berfungsi untuk mensuplai torsi keluar dengan cara menghubungkannya dengan clutch disc.

Pada saat pertama kali engine dihidupkan, gaya putar dari luar digunakan untuk memutar flywheel melalui ring gear.
Sebuah engine menghasilkan tenaga hanya pada saat melakukan langkah ekspansi (power) saja. Engine akan mengalami kecenderungan untuk berhenti berputar pada saat melakukan langkah hisap, langkah kompresi, dan langkah buang. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan gaya untuk memutar crankshaft selama langka-langkah tersebut. Flywheel digunakan untuk memfungsikan hal tersebut. Flywheel mempunyai beberapa fungsi sebagai berikut:

Flywheel yang digunakan pada engine 1 silinder dan 2 silinder, berfungsi untuk menjaga agar engine tetap selalu berputar.

Flywheel yang digunakan pada engine 4 silinder atau lebih berfungsi untuk menurunkan fluktuasi torsi.

Flywheel berfungsi untuk mensuplai torsi keluar dengan cara menghubungkannya dengan clutch disc.

Pada saat pertama kali engine dihidupkan, gaya putar dari luar digunakan untuk memutar flywheel melalui ring gear.
